Chapter 28 is committed to empowering veterans and their families through advocacy, assistance, outreach, and community service. Our chapter works to support veterans across North Central Indiana by connecting them with benefits assistance, resources, volunteer opportunities, and community engagement initiatives.

As part of the Disabled American Veterans organization, Chapter 28 proudly continues the mission of serving those who served.

Our History

Chapter 28 was officially chartered on October 9, 1944, and has proudly served veterans and their families throughout Indiana for generations.

Since its founding, the chapter has remained committed to supporting veterans through advocacy, benefits assistance, outreach, and community engagement. Over the decades, Chapter 28 has continued to evolve to meet the changing needs of veterans while maintaining a strong commitment to service, professionalism, and support for the veteran community.

Today, Chapter 28 continues that mission by remaining actively involved in veteran advocacy, community outreach, and regional veteran support initiatives throughout North Central Indiana. The chapter continues to support veterans through benefits assistance, volunteer efforts, partnerships with community organizations, and participation in initiatives that help improve services and support for veterans at both the local and state level.

Chapter 28 also remains engaged in broader veteran-focused efforts, including community-based initiatives and collaboration with organizations and leaders working to strengthen support systems and resources for veterans across Indiana.
